Your poem may be about the art itself or about feelings/thoughts/memories/stories the art inspires. It’s wide open. Let your inner voice express itself!

Cosmic Galaxy Egg by Andrew Logan

Cosmic Galaxy Egg by Andrew Logan

a glowing egg stands,
composite of compounded
minerals and gems. No one
knows what miracles
are contained within,
not for lack of trying
any tool that can be employed.
The egg repels all touch–
human or machine. The only
person privy to entombed contents
has not been born yet.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Shivers of delight at it repelling ‘all touch- human or machine.’ That so intensifies the mystery!

  3. So often we look at the outside.. when it’s all about what’s inside that counts… goes for humans as well

This would make a great beginning to a story! I like the angle you took with this: Most look at the outside in all its blinginess, but you wondered about what it contains. Thanks for playing today!
