How Much Does it Matter?

Written for:  Poetic Asides April PAD – Day 28
Two for Tuesday:  1) Write a matter poem.  Matter is what things are made of.
                                  2) Write an anti-matter poem

If you bring up
the matter in question–
you know, that sticky subject
no one wants to acknowledge–
be prepared for fallout,
and being called out by people
who would rather sweep
that item under a rug.
Some things buried
should not be exhumed.
Truth is not always pure
blue; other shades lurk
underneath the absolute.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
