Blue Blood Leaking

Written for:  The Sunday Whirl, Wordle #223

Words:  blue, word, bleeding, vessel, dusty, name, veins, search, fine, weeping, body, stone

Blue blood bleeding
from the veins
in his body. Weeping,
ruptured vessels. What
word or name to give
this phenomenon? Fired
up by challenge, scientists
and theologists work
side by side for a plausible
answer as to how
this could happen
to an ancient, dusty statue
made of stone.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

In trying to name things we often miss the point – wasting endless years…turning to stone..perhaps it’s never about answering the question but understanding what ‘you’ need to ask/know – a philosophical and engaging poem – wonderful!
