Who Dunnit?

Placed in the room,
her fingerprints
on the candlestick,
Ms. Scarlett was in
a dicy spot.

Mrs. Peacock,
in matching blue skirt
and top, stopped to whisper
in the detective’s ear.
With sheer pleasure, she claimed
to be within hearing range
when Ms. Scarlett threatened
Colonel Mustard in the library,
where the body was found
on the ground, hit no doubt,
with a blunt instrument. Looked
like an open and shut case.

Ms. Scarlett, under arrest,
set her key on the desk,
and was led out the door.
At the last second, Mrs. White,
teary-eyed, and frightened,
confessed to the crime. Seems,
some time ago, White and Mustard
had been married. Recently,
she found out that he had hidden
money from her. Now it would cost
her everything. Case closed.
