Office Dare

Written for:  Imaginary Gardens With Real Toads, Shock me . . . make me feel better!  Or, worse.  Or, whatever.  Just shock me . . . in 77 words or less.

I went with funny, but true.  Shocking things stay in dark places.

him, stop
teasing me
in the office, or
I would throw water in his face.
He laughed, kept it up, dared me, so I thew it at him.
Red-faced, astounded, he stood in front of our coworkers dripping wet. No more teasing.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Fun to read but not really funny, is it? When I was a college dropout I got a factory job with the Elgin National Watch Company. After about a year I got a promotion to be a setup man on a production line with 18 women. I was the youngest setup man ever. Those women would make me blush every day.
