Nature In Silence

Written for:  The Sunday Whirl, Wordle #242

Words:  dream, ease, water, shine, full, listen, present, object, flower, other. transform, words

Listen. Do not speak
words meant to present
ease of water flowing,
crimson flower shining
in full sunlight. Just as
a dream is a personal pictorial,
difficult to transform
into description, so nature
lives and breathes while others
enjoy its sight, scent, and sound.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Listen – in its true sense i suppose means not adding filters or judgements..really hearing and being open..hmm now i can hear a bird singing as i type – thank you for opening my heart and ears to that

  2. Dreams are so difficult to transform into description. When that happens, I sit quietly and let the images wash over me, trying to grab on and yes, listen. This is a lovely piece Sara.
