A Dear John Letter

Dear John Lennon,

What a rare, graceful person you were.
Speaking for generations, you sang
your music loud and clear–threads
extending through every country.
Who else can claim the talent
and influence you exerted
for too brief a time. You fed
and emptiness in people–energized
them, united them. We were witnesses
to your sometimes erotic nature,
and your endless attempts to espouse
peace.

I await your deep roots to flourish
once again. The world needs you.

Peace,

Still A Fan

I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Great fan letter 🙂 My favorite Beatles song is “In This Life”—so lovely 🙂

We certainly need a figure of peace to believe in – i don’t know if it’s a sign of getting older but we seem to be losing a lot of iconic figures this year..and no one seems up to the job of replacing them – A clever use of the Dear John device also
