A Boy In Love

Written for:  Poetic Asides April 2016 Challenge – Day 20
What goes unsaid?  e.g., unrequited love, hidden contempt, spoiler

He could never say it aloud
for fear of starting to stammer.
Instead he lived under a cloud,
depressed but ever enamored.

He sat down and composed some verse.
Emboldened by words, he conversed
with his love by baring his soul.
He won her heart, as was his goal.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

I like this poem and its rhyme. It rings true of young love.
