Written for: dVerse Poets Pub: “Moon-Muse” (posted by Grace)
The challenge is to write about the moon as if the moon is a person – flesh, sweat and blood. Describe him or her, and tell us about your moon.
In cool paleness
you come to me
though at certain times
you show merely a phase
of yourself. On those bright
nights you stir my blood,
heat it to a boil. There is
an aura about your face
that pulls at my heart
like greedy fingers. Energy
courses through my veins,
sleep eludes me.
Yet on those bright nights
I long for your cool paleness.
I love the way this comes full circle. And I LOVE this line:
“that pulls at my heart
like greedy fingers.”

I wonder if she acts in ways that mirror does though…
