Straight From The Fish’s Mouth

Written for:  The Sunday Whirl, Wordle #264

Words:  precise, threat, veiled, ignorant, tapestry, sparkle, bee, mutable, lightness, cuttlefish, flake shine

No, not a cuddlefish,
a cuttlefish. What an ignorant
flake. Do any of us look
cuddly to you? We are a veiled
threat–you bet. We can sparkle
and shine like fine coral, but
do not be fooled. We bite, dude.
No stinging bees are we. Our precise
bite will hurt you. Light
appearance is deceptive; we harbor
hard shells within. In dimness
of ocean, we are mutable,
like a kaleidoscope of tapestries.
Never think of taking us on.
Come on–eight arms, three hearts,
and we are smart–not like your
common octopus. What a wuss!
Beware, take care, we are everywhere.

I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Delightful I just hope these and so many other unique creatures survive the constant stream of rubbish that we continually dump the oceans.

Lovely! But maybe they SHOULD be cuddlefish, with all those arms to do it with. 🙂

I love that cuddle fish – but am suitably scared..and ashamed to say I’ve never seen one that’s not dried out and in a budgie cage..three hearts is very smart
