The Sunday Photo Challenge ~ Featuring Kenia Cris

Boredom by Kenia Cris

I am the only subject
in living color,
and I am not even living.
Yes, angels should have
a glowing aura to match
their wings, especially
when their wing color
is frosty blue. There is
no one on this hot,
uncomfortable train
with whom I would like
to have a conversation.
Not that they can see
me anyway. Look at it
from my point of view–
I died too young, and now,
I am expected to help
others. If you closely
observe, you will notice
that older angels
have wider smiles.
I guess you would not
notice that, though. I hope
my next stop is colorful.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

My goodness. This is SO good. The picture, the poem, the story behind it. So beautiful and touching. Thank you for writing this.

  2. How one would wish it to be so. There ought to be openings for interactions!
