Creativity Challenge 13
The Challenge here is to use your creative talent to bring light into the current distress in the world around you, in whatever form that talent takes. Please remember that we are reaching out to a world that is facing upheaval and possibly a great number of changes. Let us reach out to that world and bring it the lessons we have learned by becoming artists and writers. You may use images, photos, music, poetry, prose, short story fiction, personal essay, or whatever suits you best. I will post one word a day, adding a few of my own thoughts about the word. The rest is up to you.

Word for Today

The very root of all creativity. If we can envision (imagine) it, it is possible. Imagination is a powerful tool. It can and does provide answers to some of our deepest longings, issues, and wishes. Think about the current place our world is in. If you had a single wish for that world, what would it be? What would it look and feel like. Close your eyes and imagine that wish a reality. Then express that wish as though it were real.

With closed eyes, stretch
out your arm, touch my fingers
with yours, and feel the skin
yield, as flesh does. There is
no color, only texture like a work
of art.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
