Time Tip-Toes Away

Written for:  dVerse Poets, “It’s All in the Timing!” (posted by Lillian)
Write a poem that includes the word, time.

There is no time
to play with that dog;
we will be late.

This is no time
to fuss in a garden;
we will be late.

This is not the time
for reading. Put the book down;
we will be late.

There is no more time.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

    Ouch! That last line really stings. Sometimes we do need to slow down and let there be time…before we run out of it.
