He had no idea
he was being shadowed
by a detective. Rejected
by a woman who discerned
he was defective
and dangerous–his psychopathic
darkness having surfaced
in daylight–he strangled her.
With no body  or weapon found,
he was betting  police were stumped.
He was unaware  of a witness coming forth.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Thank goodness for the witness. Far too many psychopaths around, to my way of thinking. And they often get away with far too much.

A psychopath never believes he/she can be outsmarted. And they don’t deal well with opposition or resistance.
