Rainbow Bridge

Written for:  Carpe Diem honors Jane Reichhold (1937-2017) D. a rainbow bridge

desert leaving
one of my dream souls
in the lizard
patterns of his back
passport to change
torn to ribbons
bright mist
this body someday too
a rainbow bridge

high-tide beach
blue into the clear sky
the openness
for all things to become
the rush of another wave
free to fly
the ocean flows
into a cloud
the spirit released
expands in whiteness

© Jane Reichhold (A Gift of Tanka)

puzzle resolved
the sound of a waterfall
makes me happy
through the thin mist
I can sense her presence

© Chèvrefeuille (our host)

Here is my attempt:

Jane’s rainbow bridge
a graceful flow of water
encased in fog
somewhere on the top of bridge
Jane stands smiling down at us

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  1. That’s great … I know for sure that Jane is watching over us and that her spirit is dwelling on CDHK.
