First Kiss

Written for:  The Twiglets #18 – a kiss on the porch

Hidden in shadow of twilight,
young boy and girl enjoy first kiss
as porch swing rocks

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  1. They’re through, end of story, no matter how poetic the porch swing, swings!

  2. whimsygizmo says:

So sweet. My daughter is 14, and best friends/major crush with a boy who feels the same. They are hanging out on the homefront a lot, almost like old fashioned courting. It’s the sweetest thing. I don’t anticipate their first kiss being more than a few months away. Where does the time go?

We both hail from Brooklyn, NY, and they say nothing good can come out of Brooklyn! I like the imagery in this poem of yours.
