Bottled Wishes From Turbaned Cat

Written for:  Imaginary Gardens With Real Toads – Fireblossom Friday:  It’s Only A Paper Moon
Write a poem that makes us all believe in something that isn’t real.

at shore’s edge.
Picks it up. A glow
lights his hand. Thinks he is dreaming.
Out springs a bored looking Persian cat in a turban.
Cat says, Right then, only one wish. You have two minutes.
No way, man says. Says cat, What have you got to lose? If you’re dreaming, you’ll wake. Man shuts eyes, makes wish. Sees gorgeous girl. She says, Hi, I’m Faye; I’m gay.
