Written for:  Chèvrefeuille’s Gift #6 gust of wind
I love to challenge you to complete a haiku with only a given first line and to challenge you a little bit more I love to ask you to create a troiku with the haiku you have created.

“with every gust of wind”
a cooling of earth’s surface
cobwebs of dust swept clean

a cooling of earth’s surface
summer’s farewell kiss
crisp air of Autumn

cobwebs of dust swept clean
first Autumn rain storm
freshening earth

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  1. I love this, it’s like a mantra for renewal. Beautiful, cinematic imagery.
