Camera FLASH!
Are you ready for the flashbulbs to go off?
Here is our photographic challenge for November.

Woman with Long Hair Man Ray (1929)
They used to burn witches
at the stake. This is all
a mistake, darling. They
think I am a witch!
My arms are bound,
my long smooth neck
is on a chopping block.
They want only
my hair. Therein, they say,
lies her power. Hour grows
late. My fate awaits, if you
do not rescue me. Telepathy
is my last chance, so I hope
you get this message. Bring
the indigo flacon
from my dressing table,
and my cat.
Love it – all the witchy details and the allusion to Samson.

I liked your piece… esp. this line and my cat. Now, what happened, you just can’t leave people hanging?

I love the light-hearted and lyrical feeling in this piece, even as it speaks to different unjust accusations, and of course, the “myths” surrounding hair, and power etc. For all of the lightness, there is a lovely defiance, a self-pleasure and feeling of assurance, that reads just beneath the lines – like a very wise woman who knows this too shall pass, have been there before… ”
Great job with the prompt 🙂
