Claus Travel

Written for:  The Sunday Whirl, Wordle #326

Words:  monkeys, moon, sword, chop, relish, sting, kiss, strap, fly, merge, shimmy, crime

Thought we heard police choppers,
and strange monkey noises, too.
Realized it was Santa’s sleigh,
and reindeer bells flying past moon.

A gift sack strapped securely,
a chill wind that stung,
merge of hoofs and ho-ho-ho’s
in that night sky rung.

A shimmy down the chimney,
not criminals, but Santa Claus
who relished sugar cookies,
and a kiss from Mrs. Claus.

When Santa and his reindeer
left for their next stop,
that red sleigh took to the air,
and like a sword of flame it shot.

Santa is just as active and doesn’t seem to age!
