An Even Year

dVerse Poets Pub is taking a two week break.

An even years is coming due.
I plan to stay away
from doctors, oft without a clue
except to accept pay.

An even year is coming due.
Will aches and pains end?
I’d like my gym time to resume.
Here’s hoping my shoulder mends.

An even year is coming due.
Is it too far a reach
to change address of someone who
needs to be impeached.

An even year is coming due.
Time to write and read,
and keep close your muse.
Happy New Year . . . please?

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
