never proud

Written for:  The Twiglets #58 – “never proud”

He was never too proud
to take her money.

Never prouder of his son
than at this moment

Never let pride
keep you from admitting
that you were wrong.

Proudness in Neverland
for being able to fly

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

I like 2, 4 2) because there was a positive out of the negative
and 4) because of the Peter Pan reference 😉 at least to me.

WP also now lets you delete followers, but only those added after a certain date and doesn’t even show the older ones. Really what’s up with all the changes? Not much we can do.

The second one is my favourite. I love when parents are proud of their children, and remembering to tell them so.
