Weapon of Choice

Written for:  Poets United Midweek Motif~Weapon  (posted by Sumana)

“Our Motif today is Weapon. To quote Malala Yousafzai in this context, “Let us pick up our books and pens, I said. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”

Weapons are varied; in fact anything can be turned into a weapon if the user wills. One can Find one or Be one. Now, what do you say?”

Let us settle this,
what is your weapon of choice?

I choose discussion
to work out a compromise.

Discussion is not a weapon;
nothing will be accomplished.

A reasoning mind is a powerful
weapon. It can prevent total
destruction, and promote

A gun is the best weapon
for a permanent solution.

If you are right, humanity
will not be afforded
hopeful discussion.  Humanity
will cease to be.

  1. Absolutely spot-on, Sara. Sigh. One would think by now humankind might have figured this out? I grow weary. Smiles.

Neat to structure a discussion about discussion! Better than weapons!

  3. Sumana Roy says:

Yes, a reasoning mind with a bit of heart is the answer to all this chaos. Nicely put.

So well done and echoing Sherry, spot on.
    Your close is sheer truth.
Sad that some world leaders prefer the option of physical combat, for for them it gives immediate gain. But little do they realise all they have lost…

  6. You have nailed it Sara! We need a sound reasoning mind in higher places.
