Do you ever wonder
if, by staring at
yourself in a mirror
for a prolonged period,
you will see yourself
change?
Wouldn’t it be unique
to look in the glass
and see the back
of yourself?
What if your future
unreeled before you
like a movie? Would you
still look? If your past
began to count backwards,
would you check for errors?
If you remove your glasses
before gazing into a mirror
you will see that your face
softens, edges blur. What a
pleasant presentation of you!
(I never had a chance to post this prompt
of Bjorn’s, so I decided to share it here.)
Wouldn’t it be unique

it would be … wouldn’t it? definitely an interesting thought …
and the next stanza ….. would you want to look to the future?? it’s tempting …. to see and know ahead … but then, what if you can’t do anything about it …. things you might not like and such – would it rob you of life in the now?
and the line with checking the past for errors is most wonderfully penned 🙂
and the ending is lovely – a softening – perhaps it’s looking and seeing – and learning to soften our self-criticism …. blurring ourselves just enough to love a bit more … just as we are ….
glad that you’ve shared this even if you missed the prompt
