The Rage

Written for:  dVerse Poets Pub – Meeting the Bar:  “Brevity”  (posted by Frank)
The theme today is brevity. In particular it is to write a poem with no more than five lines. There are no other constraints.

The rage
of the children
cannot be understood
by access to guns, which promote
the rage.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

  4. Waltermarks says:

There is to way to put rage back in the box, once we let it out. A weapon more terrible than any. The proliferation of firearms among the people also proliferates rage, well said Sarah

  6. Singledust says:

i am so sad to read about another senseless shooting and the loss of innocent lives yet again by the same thing, guns, when will there be a change. so heartbreaking

  7. Rosemary Nissen-Wade says:

Absolutely right and very well said.
