About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Love your blog–the header image is one of my faves. I knew there must be a deeper reason I liked you, than just your writing: I was born in Far Rockaway, NY–however my parents left when I was 2, so I don’t remember it. Nonetheless, I’m told I have a “New York” personality–edgy 🙂 Sorry (for me) that you left the West Coast–I’m in Wash, so we were practically neighbors 🙂 God bless you muchly!

  2. Wonderful, Sara! Nice to see you at HH.
