Hanging By A Thread

Written for:  Poetic Asides 2018 April PAD Challenge – Day 19
Take the phrase “(blank) Thread;” replace the blank with a word or phrase; make the new phrase the title of your poem; and then, write your poem.

He is hanging by a thread,
she wants to call it quits.
See him dangle in the air.
We hope they don’t grab mitts.

Compromise is needed, no one can
monopolize a relationship. They must
harmonize, and respect each other.
Personalize too much, and the thread
of trust will rust.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
