Animated Eagles

Written for:  The Sunday Whirl, Wordle #352

Words:  loud, eagles, drunk, win, wait, family, hearts, check, laugh, animated, queen, bar

Animated eagle families, big
-hearted, and laughing loudly,
wait for no queen. Never drunk
except on love; they check on
each other’s nests. Each new
eaglet is a win for all. Only
negative eagles are barred.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

What a great picture you painted with this poem Sara. In my minds eye I could imagine each eagle family checking the neighbor families to ensure that they would dominate the skies again that season.
