Written For:  Imaginary Gardens With Real Toads – Weekend Mini-Challenge
“Insects and Bugs”  (posted by Kim)
This week’s mini challenge is to write a NEW poem in a form of your choice about INSECTS and BUGS. It doesn’t matter whether you love them or hate them, revile them or praise them. However, because they are mini beasts, keep it short (no longer than 30 lines).

Mo Squito here
Don’t fear, dear
I have had my fill for tonight
Just beware
a buzzing near your ear
If it’s cousin Sid, he bites.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

LOL! Fun one Sara – and well, mostly, it’s the females that bite – few of the varieties within the species have males biting, they are just for breeding purposes and die off shortly thereafter …. but either way, it’s no fun to itch itch itch or hear that pesky by your ear whinnnnnnnnnnnne!

Lord Sara, I hate that late night buzz and bite. I will turn on the light and search out until I find it and kill it. This was a great read. Lots of fun in this!

Great fun, Sara! I’m interested in insects and bugs, but they also like me and I’m always the one who gets bitten! I’ll be looking out for Mo and Sid 😉

We should be so lucky as to have advance warnings…but then again, I guess it’s a given, eh?
