Written for: The Twiglets #78 – “a shadow moving”
She looked at the ground;
her shadow was gone. Noticed
it slip-sliding down
the block. Tried to catch
it. Shadow turned back
once, then marathoned
away. You cannot catch
a moving shadow.
Cheek-to-Cheek
they danced in moonlight
only their shadows moved
A man who grew up in Cinci
said somebody had better pinch me
My shadow absconded
with a girl I was fond of
and kidnapped my finch, a clincher for me
Always fun to visit your verse.
The pinched finch was a clincher!
But I also enjoyed the first two 🙂
