Gazing In Wonder

So, our challenge today is to write about water.

Gazing at glorious ocean
water, waves ever moving,
colors ever changing–pale
acquamarine, midnight, teal–
I am awed at ocean’s power,
persistence, and permanence.
It pulls me, lulls me
like a seductive siren
singing, drawing me
ever closer to wonders.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Yes the ocean is alive, enticing and always spectacular. I am always going down to see it to witness her diversity.

Wonderful! I wish I lived closer to the ocean. We lived close when I was a teenager. I love how you bring the ocean alive in this.

I love listening to the reastless, never tiring thrashing as much or more than watching it. Thank you for touching our forgetful senses.

One can get lost in the sounds and sights of the ocean – I agree.
