“all too often”

Written for:  the Twiglets #81 – “all too often”

all too often
life seems unfair

often, too many children
are caught up in circumstances
they do not understand

all, too often,
does not mean
everyone

All too often, she said, you have cheated
I don’t care for the way I’ve been treated
Please pack up your stuff
I have had quite enough
You’re not needed in my life, you’re deleted!

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Yes, all too often does not mean everyone…
And the rest of us help as much as we can.

I’d like to ‘delete’ some folks in my life. Harder to do that with family…
But when they delete you first… Oy. Anyway I always enjoy visiting your posts 🙂
