cold marble

Written for:  The Twiglets #82 – “cold marble”

carved in cold marble
staring statue’s eyes

roll out your pastry crust
on a cold marble board
for best results

Floor and staircases
in the old courthouse
were constructed
of cold, pink marble

His well-known marble collection
was worth money, but he voiced objection
unwilling to sell
misfortune befell
he lost his marbles, and wallows in deep dejection.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Dead bones only speak to those who study Thanatology or Forensic Scientists 🙂
