Creation on Sand

Written for:  The Sunday Whirl, Wordle #363

Words:  weight, stones, bones, sea, shells, skein, wig, shade, refrain, twine, bend, shame

Indigo twine bent
’round shaded shells
of pink-orange, small
white stones, bones of
washed up sea creatures
stands weighted on
sand. A fright wig?
A totem? Sky darkens
with skein of wild
birds, cackling chilling
refrain–shame, shame.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Probably just some kids playing like we did without all the electronic devices that distract children these days from living in reality as they should. For everything we think we gain in life we probably lose double.(ps.Don’t get me on to plastic bags!)
