Written for: 2018 November PAD Chapbook Challenge – Day 3
For today’s prompt, take the phrase “Tired of (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles include: “Tired of the Same Old Thing,” “Tired of Daylight Savings Time,” “Tired of Halloween Candy.”
Here is my confession–
I am tired of depression,
and psychiatric sessions
about foolish old obsessions
with lovers that caused oppression
in rapid-fire succession.
I am sick of indigestion,
and it shows in my expression.
If you are in possession
of a way to achieve progression
from this state of repression,
do share your thoughts, even if you’re guessin’.
Love this one!
