I’ve Had The Time of my Lives

Written for:  Miz Quickly – November Nudge #14

As a kitten I was
smitten with a simple
ball of yarn. Now that
I am older, I look back
at my previous eight
lives in wonder at
my many adventures.
I have lived in houses,
petted and cuddled, (which,
by the way, I never cared
for). On a farm I had run
of the barn, and friends
to spare. I was a flapper,
a dancer extraordinaire. In
my ninth and final life,
no strife, just lazin’
’round, fishing when
I please, cocktails at
four. Who could want more?

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
