Person of Interest

Words:  potential, victory, me, entity, missing, with, bare, decide, evidence, air, rolling, losing

Bare facts are
only ones in evidence
with which to charge
suspect in potential
murder case. No body.
Seems a lost case
more likely than
a victory. The M.E.
was of no use, at least
not yet. Suspect is a milk
-toast nonentity, continually
rolling his watery pale
eyes. His lawyer is
an arrogant man, kind
that seems to use up
all the air in a room
just by breathing. Seething,
D.A. says, ‘find some
-thing concrete soon, or
we’ll have to release him.
Jeez, look at him. The wife
probably took off on her own.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
