moon kissing

Written for:  The Twiglets #110 – “kiss the moon”

Instead of landing
on the moon,
give it a grateful
kiss as you spin by.

If you kiss
the moon,
it smiles crescent
at you.

“To the moon Alice,” threatened Ralph Kramden
I need that money for an invention I’m handlin’
Must have space on TV
My gadget will sell, you’ll see
Live on air, Ralph froze, stared. Gadget failed; Norton got dragged in.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

    Anything moon related… sigh.
Ah, yes Mr. Ralph – I think I remember watching that show at my grandparents home.
In later years I likened the character to my Dad – perhaps they (both men) just tried too hard?
