Curiosity About A Door

Written for:  The Twiglets #111 – “behind the door”

behind the door
is another door.

Tried to peek
behind the red
door; all seemed
dark. So, as a
lark, I pried it
open. No words
were spoken,
just a collective
gasp from Alice,
The Tin Man, Snow
White–with entourage,
Red Riding Hood, well,
too many to name.
“Shame” shouted
the Queen of Hearts,
and the Wicked Witch.
“This is our private
space. We do not invade
yours.” I was shocked,
shooed out, and that
forbidden door bolted
behind me.

There once was a man from Kilkenny,
a miser who saved every penny.
A door marked, No Entrance
piqued his defiance
“Out sonny,” cried Scrooge, “your pot of gold is worth plenty.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Even our beloved characters need their private space, eh?
Nicely done. Though perhaps if you knocked nicely they would invite you to tea?

    Fun Limerick. 🙂
