soft petals

Written for:  Carpe Diem #1615 Tan Renga Challenge Month 2019 (19) Morning Glory
“February is running towards its end and there are only two days left. So today is our penultimate episode of our Tan Renga Challenge Month. I have chosen a beautiful haiku by a not so well known haiku poet, Kyoroku. Kyoroku was a disciple of Basho.

One of those haiku I will share here again to create a Tan Renga Hineri with.

The goal of today is to first create the 2nd stanza followed by a three lined stanza and a two lined stanza. Here is the haiku to work with:”

ah! morning glories
are at their best while I chant
my morning prayers                                   © Kyoroku

open petals say welcome
inside are secrets to reveal

dark interiors
like human hearts hold within
can change to light

purple veins are our network
touch us and we are soft                          © Sara

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
