Lost Again

Written for:  Poetic Asides 2019 April PAD Challenge – Day 29
“For today’s prompt, take the phrase “(blank) Again,” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then write your poem. Possible titles include: “Here We Go Again,” “On the Road Again,” “Stumped on What to Write Again,” and “Doing the Wrong Thing Again.”

I am looking for my office building.
All is dirt, how can I
find the path-where does it lie?
Landscape shifts before my eyes.

In this recurring fright-filled, long nightmare,
panicked, I doubt my sight
and feel my chest growing tight.
I pray to wake from this night.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
