10 line stanza, 10 syllables each line ababbccdcd
I do not know her, but look at her face.
Under a flowery umbrella she stands
in line, awaits bus near puddle with grace.
She holds raincoat tightly, one hand. She plans
not to be splashed by bus. A hem of blue
catches my eye. I picture daisies strewn
across that dress. Her quilted bag is drenched.
See her as office worker, with new view.
Her manner suggests thirst, as yet unquenched.
