Written for:  Carpe Diem #1709 – Shadow (Crossroads-Troiku).  Create a “fusion-haiku”, and a troiku from that.
“Here are the two haiku to work with:

blue autumn skies
folded into mountains
purple shadow

© Jane Reichhold (1937-2016)

such a hot day
my shadow needs to cool down
under the willow

© Kyoshi Takahama (1874-1958)

Fusion Haiku:

above the willow
purple-shadowed mountains
underneath, coolness

above the willow
puzzle pieces of blue sky
assurance of clear weather

purple-shadowed mountain
capes the night in splendor
with stars for buttons

underneath, coolness
smell the dew on the willow
rain has gone

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
