Written for: Poetic Asides #492 – Write a marriage poem. The poem could take place at a wedding, be dedicated to a couple about to tie the knot, and/or be an ode to marriage in general. Or maybe you consider marriage a bad thing. Or possibly your poem looks at marrying two things like peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and chocolate, or peanut butter and peanuts.
For you dears about to marry
time to share burdens you carry.
Discuss important decisions,
avoid those small collisions.
Mastering communication
will save you aggravation.
Patience, love, and understanding–
a toast to you both, a long life span.
If I were ever to contemplate marriage again (doubtful), my “interview” questions would probably send the very nice guy screaming off the cliff. The first time around, there was no discussion of crucial issues–guaranteed failure.

Same here. I married again after 10 years. Trust me, it’s the last time!
