Climate of a Relationship

Written for:  Sunday Whirl, Wordle #418

Words:  impact, end, crisis, greed, ignorance, fires, escalating, ocean, number, climate, lies, water

All factors were escalating
toward the end. The climate
of their relationship had reached
crisis point, impacted by lies,
and ignorance. They saw each
other so clearly, but did not
truly see themselves. Number
of times they had reached
this point was too many
to count. His temper fired
up quickly. Her temper
rolled like ocean waves,
quickly over when water
leveled. Greed was never
a factor, but the climate
had become suffocating.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
