too human

Written for:  The Twiglets #145 –  “too human”

They do not look
too human, yet
they cry when
we leave the house,
cuddle in next to us
when we get home.

Wanting a healthy,
safe world is all
too human a hope,
so why don’t humans
act on it?

crying at grave site
a tough woman of steel
only too human

A gentleman from Barcelona
trying to woo Desdemona
sent roses and candy
thought he was a dandy
catch–a match for half-human persona

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

I just saw an ad that said You-tube had a channel you could leave on all day for your pet!
I’m not sure that would work for all pets 😉

Humans being humane is kind of like common sense… if all of us could posses common sense…

Hard to be steel 100% of the time…

And of course a wonderful Limerick 🙂
