Going For Life

Written for:  Poetic Asides #500 – Write a half-way poem.  “Write about the half-way point in a race. Poem about the half-way mark in a work (or school) project. Or have two people meet each other “half way” by compromising on an issue.”

Admitting
he drank far too much
was a start.
Now he’s part
of a group–has a sponsor.
One day at a time

turned into a year.
He is proud and determined
to aid those
who want help
so that they can see
their lives change.

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.
