“As individual lifestyles vary everyday living may be different for different people. For some it’s exciting and for others it’s very mundane and routine life.

Once Rainer Maria Rilke said, “If your life seems poor, do not blame it; blame yourself that you are not poet enough to call forth its riches; for the Creator there is no poverty”.

There are always two ways of looking at an object. Is the glass half empty or half full?
Let’s listen to what you have to say.”

I am a bouncer,
high to low–low
to high. Somedays
are so low to the
ground, I smell
garbage strewn
on sidewalks, the
results of full
bladders (no bath-
rooms),  and evidence
that a dog with uncaring
people has marked his
spot.

Other days there are
ladders to help me
climb. All items
on agenda are crossed
off. Boom! Boom! Boom!
Energy flows.
Feel like I can keep
going. I am an Energizer
bunny, until batteries
run out.

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

It is good to remember playing hard and working hard and loving devotely as old age has me in its grip; how terrible it must be to have regrets as what one has not done.

I love the change you make in the separate verses – hopefully there will be more ladder days than low days

I sure hope that there’s room in the middle so slowing down doesn’t get me all the way to the ground!
