The Cookout

“Welcome to the Halloween OLN, where we are conjuring up spells of delightfully wicked poems!

I hope you are all enjoying this day and as a special treat, I am serving up a Delightful Witches Brew Cocktail or whatever you choose.”

I’ve gathered poison mushrooms,
they alone will make you gag.
I’m taking pains to hide my broom
with squirming toad inside a bag.

My cauldron’s has started steaming.
Foxglove and hair of wild boar
will be added to my scheming.
What witch could ask for more!

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are now back in New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

and gone are all your troubles

  2. Frank Hubeny says:

All the ingredients for a terrifying soup.

  3. Rob Kistner says:

    Double double
    Toil and trouble
    Fire burn
    And caldron bubble
