“For today’s prompt, write a music poem. Write about your favorite song, band, performer. Or write about your distaste for music. Just mention a tune in passing, or write a poem that responds to a song.”
First time I stood stock still in amazement–
“Jesus died for somebody’s sins but not mine.”
Fierce voice vibrated to my appraisement.
She shocked her audience at the Bottom Line
A waif writing poetry and song, burst
onto the punk rock scene, at a time
when new sounds were needed, new words of verse.
First punk rock album, was Patti’s “Horses.”
I tried to attend all her concerts.
Last time I saw her was a performance
of reading poems, and singing songs.
Both of us 70, still non-conformists.
